Sabrina Ionescu Makes Strong Statement With Championship Parade Outfit

Sabrina Ionescu shared the details of her iconic New York Liberty jacket following the team's historic WNBA title win.

As the whole city celebrates its first WNBA championship, thousands of fans attended the Liberty's parade on Thursday.

Amid the sea of fans who joined the celebration, Ionescu made heads turn with her eye-catching victory jacket.

The Liberty point guard graced the special event wearing a custom black leather jacket. In a video shared by the WNBA, the 26-year-old player broke down the details of her outfit choice.

"You know just the series," Ionescu said while pointing at the patches on the right sleeve of her jacket. The Liberty star was referring to the team's playoff run against the Atlanta Dream (2-0), Las Vegas Aces (3-1) and the Minnesota Lynx (3-2). Ionescu also showed off the WNBA trophy patch at the bottom.

On the left side, the victory jacket featured the Liberty star's "S" logo along with the Nike patch.

Notably, the front of the jacket displayed the phrases "Liberty has a nice ring to it" and "Yerrrnescu," which is her iconic catchphrase.

Other than Sabrina Ionescu, the whole Liberty team, including Breanna Stewart, Finals MVP Jonquel Jones, head coach Sandy Brondello and even team mascot Ellie the Elephant, joined the parade.

In addition, New York City Mayor Eric Adams was present at the ticker-tape parade on Broadway, Manhattan.

The Liberty triumphed over the Minnesota Lynx to win the championship, beating them in overtime of Game 5 with a score of 67-62. According to reports, each player received a bonus of $20,825 for the win.
