Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski played together in the NFL for 11 seasons, nine with New England and two with Tampa Bay.

During that time, they hooked up for 90 touchdowns and countless big plays, winning four Super Bowls in the process. Off the field, the two share a close relationship, but it wasn't always buddy-buddy between the pair. There was certainly occasional tension, particularly early on in Gronkowski's career.

On a recent episode of their "Dudes on Dudes" podcast, Gronkowski and former Patriots teammate Julian Edelman swapped Brady war stories, including the maddest they have ever been at the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Edelman talked about when he was a rookie and was annoyed by Brady coaching him on punt returns, something the star quarterback had never done himself.

Gronkowski also shared a story from his rookie year in 2010, when Brady was angry with his inability to get outside of a defender on a corner route. Things boiled over during a team film session.

"The defender was always outside of me, squatting at 10 yards, and he [Brady] is always like 'Get outside. You've got to get outside of the defender or I will never throw you the ball,'" Gronkowski said. "I wasn't really that athletic as a rookie. I couldn't get outside, and Brady just turns around in the meeting because it was on film and he goes 'Gronk, I'm f-----g done throwing you the ball.'"

Gronkowski was sad in the moment, but said veteran tight end Alge Crumpler offered him encouragement.

In the end, the incident ticked him off, and ultimately fired him up to improve.

"That fired me up. I was like 'Oh, I'm gonna show this guy.' But that's the leadership he had. He was brutally honest, and he would get you to the next level."

There are a bunch of reasons why Brady is considered the GOAT. The fact he held teammates to the same high standard he did himself is one of them.
