Everything About Paige Spiranac's Collegiate Golf Career (1:26)

Paige Spiranac is one of the most famous golfers in the world, but she doesn't compete on any professional tour.

Spiranac is a golf influencer, posting content related to the sport on her social media platforms. She's been able to garner a devoted and passionate fanbase on those platforms, and she has over four million followers on Instagram alone.

Spiranac has attempted to use her fame to grow the game of golf, and on Thursday she shared some tips with new players on some of the game's "unspoken rules."

"One of my pet peeves is when experienced golfers gatekeep these rules of the game," she said in an Instagram video.

"We're changing that today."

Spiranac mentioned that at some courses, it's frowned upon for players to change into their golf shoes in the parking lot. She also advised new players to abide by the double par rule - if they're not able to finish a hole after doubling the amount of strokes for par, it's okay to move on.

She also recommended that players get a sense for how their group wants to handle order of play to avoid slowing things down later in the round. Spiranac said that it's considered proper etiquette for players to stand to the side of the player who is currently hitting.

Spiranac ended her video by reminding new players that it's okay to ask questions, but that it's "not okay to be a jerk to new golfers."

Spiranac briefly played professionally, but she experienced great success as a college golfer. She played at two Division I programs in Arizona and San Diego State, winning a conference championship with the latter.

That Mountain West title was the first in the history of San Diego State women's golf, and Spiranac also earned all-conference honors throughout multiple college seasons.

In addition to her work as an influencer and social media personality, Spiranac has branched out into other forms of media.

She's appeared in commercials, and recently confirmed that she has a cameo in the upcoming "Happy Gilmore 2," releasing later this year for viewers on Netflix.

We'll see what the future has in store for Spiranac as she continues to welcome new players to the game of golf.
