The Baltimore Orioles entered the 2024 MLB season as World Series contenders.

Unfortunately, the Orioles saw their 2024 season come to a swift end after earning a wild card spot just two days prior. Baltimore was swept by the Kansas City Royals while managing just to score just one run over the combined two games. To make matters worse, the Orioles only gave up three runs in the two-game series, but their offense was stagnant.

Following the Wild Card series loss, the Orioles made a decision on the future of manager Brandon Hyde. According to multiple reports, Hyde will be back as the team's manager for the 2025 campaign.

Following a tough exit, Hyde opened up on the team's offensive woes.

"They did a great job of pitching out of trouble," Hyde said. "I thought we gave everything we had. I thought we pitched really, really well. We pitched out of traffic almost the entire game it felt like to keep the score where it was. Just a disappointing finish."

"When you lose like this," Hyde added, "there's frustration, there's anger, there's disappointment because you felt like there was opportunities there in those couple games to change the score. And it didn't happen."

Hyde will enter his sixth MLB season as a manager and potentially his last when the 2025 season kicks off. In six seasons with the Orioles he's led the team to two playoff appearances, but hasn't won a single game.
