Classic ESPN Show Is Getting Canceled (1:15)

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. is getting an early start on his prep for the 2025 NFL Draft. On Thursday, he unveiled his updated rankings for the top quarterback prospects in the country.

Although the 2025 draft class isn't considered "quarterback heavy," there are a plethora of intriguing options, such as Georgia's Carson Beck and Miami's Cam Ward. Of course, we can't forget Shedeur Sanders, the son of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders. He has shown plenty of NFL traits over the past two seasons.

In fact, Sanders has looked so good at times that Kiper has him ranked No. 1 out of all the quarterbacks in the country.

Kiper has Beck ranked No. 2 on his list. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, meanwhile, claimed the third spot in the rankings.

Kiper's former colleague at ESPN, Todd McShay, would agree with his ranking for Sanders. Last week, McShay raved about the Colorado quarterback's ability to throw with anticipation.

"Just finished all 94 plays of Colorado Offense vs Baylor. Even excluding the Hail Mary, Shedeur was sensational," McShay said. "His receivers just don't have to work for the ball the way a lot of other prospects make their guys work. Best pure passer (anticipation, placement, throwing guys open, etc.) in the '25 class!"

Sanders flexed his muscles last Saturday against UCF, completed 28 of 35 pass attempts for 290 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. It was a really impressive performance, especially when you take into consideration that he threw a pick on the opening drive.

Next Saturday's game against Kansas State will be a tough test for Sanders. If he has another strong performance, he could really help his stock for the 2025 NFL Draft.
