NFL Head Coach On Verge Of Getting Fired At Halftime

It's only halftime in Week 11, but one head coach is reportedly on the verge of getting fired.
The Detroit Lions are taking it to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. Detroit is leading Jacksonville, 28-6, after two quarters of play. This was expected, of course, as the Lions came into Sunday's game as two-touchdown favorites - the biggest spread of the 2024 NFL regular season to date. However, this might be pretty bad news for one head coach.
NFL.com reported on Sunday that Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson could be out with a tough performance against the NFC contenders.
NFL.com reported that Pederson could be axed if the Jaguars lose to the Lions in a blowout. A 22-point halftime deficit certainly qualifies as a blowout.
From the report:
Recent history appears to be on the way to repeating itself in Jacksonville.
The Jaguars, mired in a miserable rut after losing four of their last five games, might be looking at another regime change for 2025, and sources say a dramatic move could come as soon as this week, pending the results of Sunday's game against the Lions.
Jacksonville enters its bye in Week 12, which could serve as an ideal time to regroup.
NFL insider Josina Anderson heard something similar heading into Week 11.
"Heard from a couple people...the owner prefers to wait to make a decision after the season, but if they get blown out this weekend (vs. the Detroit #Lions) change is possibly coming," a source told her.
The source added: "Define fair in the NFL. What's fair? This is a business. I mean I see your point, but people are definitely talking about these things down here."
#Jaguars owner Shad Khan is making recent headlines with docking his 315-foot megayacht downtown.

The Jaguars, barring a massive second half comeback, will fall to 2-9 on the season with a loss to the Lions on Sunday afternoon.
Will this be it for Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson in Jacksonville?
