NFL fans are calling for a Dallas Cowboys coach be fired on Sunday afternoon - but not Mike McCarthy.

Well, they probably think - rightfully - that McCarthy should be fired, too. But he's not the one on the receiving end of the firing calls today. That would be Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator John 'Bones' Fassel. The Cowboys have had arguably the worst special teams day of the season - and it's not close.

Here's what's happened:

  • Blocked field goal attempt by Brandon Aubrey
  • Missed field goal attempt by Brandon Aubrey that was nearly blocked
  • Blocked punt attempt by Bryan Anger

It doesn't get much worse than that.

Many in the National Football League are calling for John 'Bones' Fassel to be fired.

"Love Bones Fassel, but he might have to go," one fan wrote.

"Bones Fassel is really bad at his job," one fan added.

"How does Bones Fassel still have a job," one fan added.

"But Bones Fassel is supposed to be awesome or something(?). Can't wait to clean house after the season," one fan added.

"Bones Fassel deserves to get fired," one fan added.

"Fire Bones Fassell. He's been over rated for years now can't protect his kicker and punter" another fan added.

The Cowboys have said that they'll wait to make a decision on head coach Mike McCarthy until the end of the regular season, but perhaps Jerry Jones should make a move on the special teams coordinator now.

It can't get much more embarrassing for the Cowboys this season, but Fassel is certainly not helping.
