Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hasn't made any controversial comments on the radio this week, and yet, he's still trending on social media.

The main reason Jones is being talked about on social media this Thursday is because of his political views. In the past, he has strongly supported the Republican Party. In fact, when asked at an NFL owners meeting why he supports Republicans, he replied, "That's how the country should be run but don't [expletive] with me, all right?"

With Election Day almost here, Front Office Sports is reporting that Jones recently donated to $20,000 to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign. Cruz will be going up against Democratic Rep. Collin Allred.

Once this news broke, NFL fans rushed to social media to offer their thoughts on Jones' donation. Those who support the Republican Party are obviously OK with this move. On the flip side, those who support the Democratic Party believe Jones has just cursed the Cowboys.

"Well, he finally made a good call by supporting Ted," one person replied to the news. "Maybe he should find a talent that understands football and the talent required to be a success in the NFL."

"Interesting timing! Jones supporting Cruz has fans buzzing, especially with the Cowboys' struggles. Some are calling it a curse," a second person said.

"The only thing Jones and the Cowboys have done right," another person wrote on X.

"That's gross," a fourth person commented.

Jones has not responded to any of the backlash, nor will he. As of right now, his focus is on the upcoming game for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys have an underwhelming 3-4 record heading into this Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Since the NFC East is looking awfully competitive this year, they can't afford to drop another game this early in the season.
