Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been adamant about his refusal to coach in the NFL, noting that he prefers the college game because of his approach to the job.

"I don't have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL," Sanders told SI.com in 2023.

"I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes."

One report suggests that as his son Shedeur prepares to enter the NFL Draft, Sanders is considering changing his mind for one team with a head coach opening that is picking near the top of that draft.

According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Sanders reportedly has "very strong interest" in coaching the Las Vegas Raiders.

Fans are reacting to the possibility of Sanders changing his mind on coaching in the NFL, and potentially continuing to coach his own son.

"I get that all of this is a business, I do. But if he leaves after 1 winning season? After all of the talk? What a joke…Just frustrating really," one fan said.

"If y'all think Prime is going to be the coach at CU next season, you're crazy," said another fan.

"This is literally worst case scenario for me, Buffs lose Deion and I have to deal with Shilo Sanders on the Raiders," another fan said.

"Where's all those CU fans that said he was locked in with yall?," one fan asked.

"My crystal ball says there will be many decommits in Colorado's future," another fan added.

"If he leaves he'll be known as one of the best and biggest liars of college football," said one fan.

"Why even recruit if you're just going to follow your son?," asked one fan.

The Raiders will have the chance to draft Shedeur Sanders in April, but with other quarterback-needy teams ahead of them in the order, they may have to trade up in order to do so.

We'll see if they make that move - and if they consider hiring Deion - as they head into the 2025 NFL season.
