Isiah Pacheco's broken leg has left the Kansas City Chiefs with a hole at running back.

The team is reaching into its past to try and fill the void. According to reports, the Chiefs are signing veteran Kareem Hunt to the practice squad. It's a reunion for KC, as Hunt, 29, began his NFL career with the team in 2017-18.

A third-round pick out of Toledo, Hunt led the NFL in rushing and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. He was having an excellent season again in 2018 when video surfaced of the Ohio native pushing a woman to the ground and kicking her.

The discovery led to Hunt's release. He eventually resurfaced with the Cleveland Browns, where he spent the last five seasons.

News of Hunt's return to Kansas City has generated mixed reactions from fans around the league.

"League really let us get this demon," one Chiefs fan said.

"I know he's 29 but there's a lot of unresolved feelings on both sides. Seeing him back in KC is a full circle moment," added Daniel Harms of The Draft Network.

"Good as long as Browns didn't resign him," a Browns fan added.

"Yuck, this lowlife gets another job in the NFL," another commenter chimed in, referencing Hunt's legal issues.

"The Chiefs are about to turn into the Dynasty Patriots. These boys just do whatever to win," a fifth commenter said.

Hunt has rushed for 4,436 yards in 91 regular season games in his career. Rookie Carson Steele and veteran Samaje Perine are the top running back options in Kansas City at the moment with Pacheco sidelined, but it wouldn't shock us to see Hunt get into the mix sooner rather than later.
