Mike Tomlin Gets Honest About His Playoff Losing Streak

Mike Tomlin is getting honest about his losing streak in the NFL Playoffs.
The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 28-14, in the Wild Card Round on Saturday night. Pittsburgh, which went 10-7 in the regular season, once again had a lackluster showing on offense when things mattered most. Over the past five years or so, the Steelers have been a solid regular season team that has absolutely no chance of going deep in the playoffs, due to a mediocre at best (and often downright bad) offense.
Tomlin has now lost six straight playoff games. The franchise's last playoff win came in 2017.
But the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach said that the losing streak in the playoffs is solely his, and not something for this current team to get blamed for.
"I'm just assessing what transpired tonight," Tomlin said. "As I told you guys earlier in the week, those are my bags, not this collective's bags. And so my energy is on that group in there and what they were willing to give and the journey that we've been on this year and certainly it came to a disappointing end tonight."
Tomlin's right about that. There's been one constant over Pittsburgh's last six playoff games - and that's the head coach.
The longtime NFL head coach, who took over the Steelers franchise in 2007, is one of the best in modern history. His 18-year run with Pittsburgh has been an incredible success. But sometimes, change is needed.
NFL fans have been calling for a change in Pittsburgh, as many believe that it's time for Tomlin and the Steelers to go their separate ways. Tomlin would certainly have little difficulty finding a new job, but at the end of the day, it could be what's best for the Pittsburgh franchise, too.
It's going to be a fascinating offseason in Pittsburgh, that's for sure. Is it time for the Steelers to make a change?
