NBA Legend Dikembe Mutombo Has Passed Away (1:01)

Despite being 58 years old, Mike Tyson made his return to the ring on Friday night to fight Jake Paul. Although he went the distance, he didn't get the result he was looking for.

Outside of a brief moment where he delivered a vicious jab, Tyson struggled to put together a combination of hits on Paul. Overall, he only threw 97 punches. When asked about his performance, the former world heavyweight champion said, "I didn't prove nothing to anybody, only to myself."

It's a good thing "Iron Mike" wasn't trying to prove something to those watching at home, because NBA legend Magic Johnson revealed that he was saddened by Friday's fight.

In fact, Johnson said he had to "cut off" the Netflix stream because he couldn't watch anymore.

"Just sad smh," Johnson wrote on X. "I cut it off because I couldn't watch anymore. It's sad to see Mike Tyson like this because I went to every Tyson fight. This fight tonight was not great for boxing."

Make no mistake about it, Johnson isn't the only person who feels this way.

Unfortunately for Johnson, there's a chance Tyson returns for another fight. At least that's what he alluded to during his post-match interview.

"I don't know," Tyson said. "It depends on the situation."

As for Paul, he's already thinking about his next match. Some people want to see him fight Canelo Alvarez.

"Everyone is next on the list," Paul said. "Canelo needs me. I'm not even going to call him out. He needs a payday. He knows where the money man is at."

We can't say for certain that the future of boxing is in good hands. The sport remains wildly entertaining though, that's for sure.
