Earlier this year, a sexual assault lawsuit was filed against Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. On Wednesday, the NFL world finally received an update on his legal situation.

The accuser, Victoria Shores, said Prescott assaulted her in 2017. The Pro Bowl quarterback said he felt as if she was trying to extort $100 million from him.

Well, Prescott received good news today regarding this lawsuit.

Court records from Colin Country, Texas show that a judge dismissed this lawsuit against Prescott.

Prescott's attorney, Levi McCathern, said the judge dismissed the lawsuit because it "lacked merit." He spoke to TMZ Sports about the decision.

"Despite Ms. Shores and her legal team's relentless efforts to extort money and damage Dak's reputation, justice has consistently prevailed and will continue to do so," McCathern said. "These ploys distract from the trauma of legitimate sexual assault survivors and undermine the progress that our society has made in supporting them. We are proud that Dak stands up against this injustice and thankful Judge Tucker agrees."

For what it's worth, the police have already investigated these claims against Prescott. They didn't find sufficient evidence to take further action.

Prescott, who recently became a father, can now strictly focus on his family and football. The All-Pro is on track to receive a massive contract.
