ESPN's Marty Smith has always been a well-respected reporter and storyteller. On Monday night, he once again proved why he has such a glowing reputation.

During the second hour of "College GameDay," Smith did a segment on the life and death of former Princeton football player Tiger Bech. He was one of 14 people killed in the New Orleans terrorist attack on New Year's Day. His brother, former LSU player Jack Bech, confirmed his death a few hours after it happened with an emotional statement.

"Love you always brother! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don't worry. This is for us," Jack wrote on X.

In this feature narrated by Smith, he talked about Bech being an incredible brother and son. He was someone who embraced living in the moment. Towards the end of this tribute, Smith's voice started cracking just a bit. You could tell that his heart was broken over this situation.

Immediately after Smith wrapped up this emotional tribute for Bech, fans went on social media to praise him for handling such a delicate segment with grace and professionalism.

"That segment on gameday hit all the feels, rarely do you see something move someone like Marty Smith to the verge of tears," one person wrote on X.

"Marty Smith might be the best thing we've got going right now," another fan said.

"Marty Smith is such a genuine human being," Bobby Belt of 103.5 The Fan said.

"Marty Smith, well done in that segment! That was tough to do, very professional," a social media user added.

Another social media user said, "Marty Smith again proving why he might be the most underrated sports reporter in the country."

Prior to enrolling at Princeton, Bech played quarterback, wide receiver, punt returner and defensive back for St. Thomas More Catholic High School.

Hopefully, Bech's legacy will live on for years to come.

Our thoughts remain with those impacted by the terrorist attack in New Orleans.
