Meet The Star Of The Eagles Cheerleading Squad (1:13)

The Washington Commanders are going to lose the NFC Championship Game, but not because of Jayden Daniels.

Daniels has played well so far. Through the first three quarters, the rookie star completed 22-of-33 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown and added 48 rushing yards and a score. The Commanders are still trailing the Philadelphia Eagles 41-23 though, thanks in large part to three untimely turnovers.

Washington wide receiver Dyami Brown and kick returner Jeremy McNichols each lost fumbles in Commanders territory in the first half, with both turnovers leading to touchdowns. Late in the third quarter, running back Austin Ekeler fumbled near midfield, with the Eagles recovering that one as well.

Philadelphia turned that third miscue into the clinching touchdown on a 1-yard Jalen Hurts quarterback sneak. It's a shame too, because Daniels has looked really comfortable against an elite opponent in his NFC title game debut.

On social media, Washington fans and neutral observers are sticking up for Daniels and blaming his teammates.

"Every dude that fumbled today owes Jayden Daniels a personal apology and probably a financial sum," one person said.

"Jayden Daniels' teammates have lost 6 fumbles in the last 7 quarters against the Eagles. Josh Allen's teammates have lost 0 fumbles in 19 games this season," added NFL writer Scott Kacsmar.

"Even Jayden Daniels can't overcome his team losing three fumbles. And it's really a shame, because the @Commanders are getting the QB play they need to win the NFC Championship Game," said ESPN's Jason Reid.

"You have Jayden Daniels. All you have to do is NOT fumble the ball. 3 fumbles today," a Commanders fan chimed in.

"Daniels is ready to win this game. Why won't his teammates let him?!" asked longtime radio host Jim Rome.

After the game, we'd expect Daniels will take the high road when asked about his colleagues' errors.

Still, we wouldn't blame him for wondering privately what might have happened if they had been more surehanded.
