Saturday afternoon saw the Green Bay Packers place wide receiver Romeo Doubs on the reserve/suspended list for one game ahead of Week 5's matchup vs. the LA Rams.

The former fourth-round pick reportedly missed two days of practice and meetings and was disciplined for "conduct detrimental to the team."

Doubs was first said to have been suspended for personal reasons but other reporting suggested that the 24-year-old was upset with his lack of usage in Green Bay's offense.

"Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week's game," Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said in a statement shortly after the news broke. "His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week."

It didn't take long for fans around the league to speculate that a trade could soon be incoming from one of the NFL's heavyweights.

"This Romeo Doubs stuff is 100% the genius work of Brett Veach and the Kansas City Chiefs," a user said. "1. 'Romeo, sit out for a couple of weeks, then demand a trade. You'll become a household name in KC, get a ring, and then strike a nice, long-term deal.' 2. #Chiefs trade a 5th for Doubs."

"I hope it doesn't happen, but Romeo Doubs would be a great replacement for Rashee Rice if he's traded," another person admitted.

"Trade Doubs to the Chiefs for Nick Bolton. Who says no?"

"#Chiefs acquiring WR Romeo Doubs from the #Packers would not surprise me," a fan replied. "Something to watch over the next month."

"Would I want us to trade Romeo ? Nah, but if I'm the chiefs I'm all in on Romeo Doubs. He'll be the best WR y'all have had since Tyreek," another posted.

The Chiefs could certainly use another playmaker on offense after losing so much firepower to injury. But they've also proven they can get it done without having household names on the outside.

Will KC push all the chips to the middle of the table for a chance at a three-peat?
