The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a decision on visiting the White House to celebrate their World Series championship.

The Dodgers won the 2024 Fall Classic in five games over the Yankees, their second world championship in the last five seasons. The team previously visited the White House under then-President Joe Biden following their 2020 World Series win, and will do the same this spring with Donald Trump now occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

On Tuesday, the Dodgers announced they have been invited to D.C. by Trump and will make the trip April 7 while in town to play the Washington Nationals.

"In keeping with long-standing baseball tradition, President Trump has invited the 2024 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House when they play in Washington D.C. on April 7," the team said in a statement. "The Dodgers look forward to visiting the White House and celebrating our title. In addition, members of the Dodgers will visit Capitol Hill on April 8."

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that the team did not have a "formal conversation' to decide whether or not to visit the White House.

The veteran skipper called the invitation a "great honor" and confirmed he will be there, even after being reminded that in 2019, he told the Los Angeles Times he would not go to the White House with Trump in office.

"I'm going," Roberts said, via ESPN. "I respect the position. It's the highest office in our country, certainly in the world, so, looking forward to it."

The Dodgers are the most recent team to agree to come to the White House, joining the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles, who are scheduled to visit on April 28.

President Trump also said he intends to host the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs, who were unable to celebrate their win in Super Bowl LIV due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
