Diana Taurasi was not in the lineup for the Phoenix Mercury on Monday after losing to the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Taurasi was dealing with some back soreness and sat out after playing on Sunday. She played 32 minutes in that game and finished with 19 points, three assists, and three rebounds.

Her loss was felt against the Connecticut Sun, one of the best teams in the WNBA. The Mercury fell to 9-10 overall after losing by 11, 83-72.

Brittney Griner and Kahleah Cooper led the Mercury with 21 points each and combined for over half of their points. Natasha Cloud had 18 more points and also added 10 rebounds.

The Mercury are hoping that Taurasi will be available for Wednesday night's game against the Dallas Wings. The Mercury are on a two-game losing streak and last won against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Wednesday's game will be their third game in four nights before they have off for the next few days. Their next game after this one will be this Sunday against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Tip-off for Wednesday's game will be at 8 p.m. ET.
