Even though Colorado still has a bowl game to play in, the program is already looking ahead to next season since the transfer portal window is open.

The program will need a new quarterback since Shedeur Sanders will be entering the 2025 NFL Draft and with that in mind, Colorado has already set a timeframe for when a transfer quarterback will visit.

According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, former Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter is set to visit Colorado next week after visiting Syracuse this weekend.

Salter had been with the Liberty program for the last four seasons before entering the portal this week. He finished this season with 1,886 yards through the air, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

His best individual season came in 2023 when he threw for 2,876 yards through the air, 32 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He helped Liberty to a 13-1 record last season before helping them to an 8-3 record this year.

He's one of the top transfer quarterbacks in the portal and will take a handful of visits before making a decision.

He'd be a good fit for Colorado since the program needs a new quarterback and Deion Sanders has shown that he can be a good coach at the Power Four level.

Colorado had a much better regular season in 2024, finishing with nine wins and getting to the Alamo Bowl against BYU. Both teams are ranked heading into the game and have had great offenses all year, so it should be a great game.

That game will take place on December 28 so Sanders and Co. will have plenty of time to recruit Salter and other top players in the portal.

Kickoff for the Alamo Bowl will be at 7:30 p.m. ET.
