Dave Roberts, Aaron Boone Showed Great Sportsmanship After World Series

For the past week, Aaron Boone and Dave Roberts have been competing to lead their respective teams, the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, to a World Series title.
Unfortunately for Boone, his team legitimately imploded during Game 5 of the World Series. The Yankees made three critical mistakes in the top of the fifth inning, which directly resulted in them blowing a 5-0 lead. The Dodgers, on the other hand, did a great job of capitalizing on those mistakes. Roberts also perfectly managed his bullpen in a game where his starter, Jack Flaherty, couldn't even get through two innings.
Despite how tough Wednesday night's loss must have been for Boone, he handled defeat with class. In fact, he made sure to congratulate Roberts and the Dodgers.
Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post managed to capture a photo of Boone and Roberts embracing following Game 5 of the World Series.

Roberts gave Boone a ton of praise during his postgame press conference on Wednesday. He talked about how they have to deal with "World Series or bust" expectations every season since they're leading historic franchises.
"Aaron is an absolute professional," Roberts said. "He sought me out. Wanted to congratulate me personally. We have a long history of competing against one another. A mutual respect. And I think Aaron's the only one in baseball that can really relate to my job in the sense of, either win a World Series championship or you've failed and you're not doing a good job in the respective markets."
In a world that's so divisive right now, it's nice to see Boone and Roberts show great sportsmanship.
Hopefully, their behavior will inspire others to show humility and respect during the highs and lows in sports.
