It's safe to say that former Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson is still a bit broken up about his breakup with Sharelle Rosado after being engaged for the better part of two years.

On the latest episode of Nightcap alongside his friend Shannon Sharpe, Johnson got a little bit upset when Sharpe started going on a little tangent about relationships. Johnson told Sharpe that he wasn't in the mood to hear any more comments about relationships, remarking that it was a little triggering for him right now.

"You're talking relationships again. Here you go," Johnson said. "… How you don't have any compassion? You don't know what I'm going through right now… Damn, I'm just saying that was triggering."

Sharpe apologized and the two quickly went back to joking around:

"Ocho, you got a great situation so fix it," Sharpe said.

"Well shoot, I'm blocked, so you might need to make that call for me," Johnson explained before they started laughing. "Unc, it's not funny."

Rosado confirmed that the two were breaking off the engagement a few days ago.

"Chad and I are no longer together please stop tagging us. He is a free man ladies," Rosado wrote on X.

That's a tough break for Johnson. When we interviewed Johnson back in 2023 he seemed very excited to be getting married.

But if it's not meant to be, it's just not meant to be.

Johnson played 11 seasons in the NFL, making six Pro Bowls, two First-Team All-Pro selections and led the league in receiving yards in 2006. Postseason success was limited for Johnson, who played for a number of very bad Cincinnati Bengals teams for most of his career. He finished his career with 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns and remains the Bengals' all-time leader in receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Since retiring he's tried a number of ventures ranging from media to other sports leagues and everything in between.

We wish both of them well moving forward.
