5 Sports Records That May Never Be Broken (2:45)

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is officially entering the 2025 NFL Draft.

Heading into the 2024 season, there was some buzz that Milroe could work his way into the first-round pick conversation. However, the redshirt junior saw a dip in his completion percentage and touchdown passes and a rise in interceptions as the Crimson Tide went 9-4. On Tuesday, Milroe played miserably in a 19-13 loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, completing only 16-of-32 passes for 192 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Even with his draft stock seemingly slipping and rumors that he could choose to enter the transfer portal, Milroe announced his decision to test the NFL Draft waters Thursday afternoon.

"Football has always been my passion, and since I was a kid, I dreamed of competing at the highest level. Through every win, every tough loss, and any criticism along the way, my love and dedication to this game has never wavered," Milroe said. "Each day, my gratitude for the opportunity to play this sport I love only grows stronger.

"With that said, I am declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Roll Tide forever!"

Milroe's announcement is being met with plenty of skepticism, though there are still some who feel the dual-threat signal caller is worth taking a chance on.

"Based on this class I would still take Jalen Milroe," one fan argued. "Most of these QB prospects still need time to develop. He has the elite physical traits worth developing and a lot more quality tape and competitive football under his belt than previous prospects like Richardson or Lance."

"With the first overall pick in the drive thru draft McDonalds selects Jalen Milroe," a second person joked.

"Lol him and [Carson] Beck are going much lower than they think or are being told they will. Especially Jalen Milroe, I fully expect him to pull a Cam Ward and be back in college. Someone will throw NIL money at him. Probably made this decision because Bama didn't want him back," a third person said.

"I wonder if Jalen Milroe was informed if he did come back his job wouldn't be guaranteed OR some agent convinced him he can get him in first or second round," wondered BSO's Robert Littal.

"Hoping all the very best for Jalen Milroe and I know that he will Continue to LANK! Go chase your dreams Jalen!!" an Alabama fan chimed in.

A native of Katy, Tex., Milroe backed up Bryce Young for two seasons before seizing the starting job heading into the 2023 campaign.

He finishes his Alabama career with 6,016 passing yards, 45 touchdowns and 20 interceptions to go with 1,577 rushing yards and 33 rushing scores.
