A college baseball program may need a massive roster rebuild after losing its longtime coach.

On Friday, Ohio State hired Justin Haire as its new head coach after 17 years at Campbell University. Since the announcement, multiple players from the private Christian school in North Carolina have entered the transfer portal.

Jonah Oster, Nathan Brittain, Packy Bradley-Cooney, Jackson Roberts, Drew Siegner, Joe Simpson, Garrett Kangas, David Rossow, and Marc Stephens all announced their decision to seek a new school in the last three days. Many of them started their social media post by writing, "Due to recent coaching changes at Campbell, I have decided to enter the transfer portal" before listing their remaining eligibility and contact information.

Dalen Thompson, a starting outfielder who posted a .950 OPS, transferred to NC State earlier this month. Reed Stallman, who hit 15 home runs with a 1.001 OPS, recently committed to Mississippi State.

Chandler Riley, Josh Foulks, and Chance Daquila previously entered the portal in late May or early June. Peyton Bonds, the nephew of legendary slugger Barry Bonds, also reportedly submitted his name into the portal following Haire's exit.

On3's Jonathan Wagner said catcher Grant Knipp, who batted .402 as a redshirt junior, is transferring as well. On3 claimed that Charles Meglio, Jackson Roberts, Dylan Koontz, Caden Spivey are also now in the portal.

It's unclear if Southern Union assistant coach John Jeanes was being facetious when he said 30 Campbell players have hit the portal since the Buckeyes hired Haire. Either way, the new coach will have a lot of work to do this offseason.
