The 16 Most Painful College Football Teams To Be A Fan Of (3:34)

The internet doesn't forget much and it sure wasn't going to let this one go.

After Clemson's Antonio Williams opened the scoring with a 22-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter of Saturday's College Football Playoff game against Texas, the Tigers wide receiver boldly hit the "night night" celly.

Unfortunately for Williams though, there was still a lot of football to be played and his team ended up losing to the fifth-seeded Longhorns 38-24.

Fans were quickly calling for this one to be placed in the Freezing Cold Takes Hall of Fame:

"Doing this celebration is the 1st quarter is hysterical," a user said.

"Does it on the first possession, Texas doesn't even have the ball yet, and had 3 catches for 44 yards after this. Literally had a 1\3 of his production on 1 catch," another pointed out.

"Definition of too soon," a fan commented.

"Yea maybe people should stop doing this celebration…" another user suggested.

"How insanely crazy is it to do the night night pose after the first drive of the game?" another person asked.

"I'm going to lose sleep wondering why he decided to do this. It had to be a joke right," another fan replied.

"Was like 'yeah let's go' then saw this and was like they cooked. First [expletive] quarter before Texas even gets the ball. [Expletive] moron," a fired up Clemson supporter posted.

You have to wonder what the thought process was when Williams got into the endzone.

As iconic as Stephen Curry's celebration has become, it was meant to be pulled out after a team has been put to sleep. Not when they still have the chance to smack you by 14 points.

Clemson's comeback attempt was certainly admirable later in the game after the team went down by three scores. But for Williams to pull out the that celly at that point in a Playoff game nonetheless — it was bound to backfire.

Now Texas moves on to the CFP quarterfinal where they'll face Big 12 champion Arizona State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on New Year's Day.
