The New York Jets are 2-2 to begin the 2024 season, and they have some work to do if they want to end their record playoff drought this year.

Aaron Rodgers is back and healthy, and while he's shown flashes of his pre-injury MVP form, he and the team haven't been consistent through the first month of the season.

Some have suggested that Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh aren't getting along, with an incident during a win over the New England Patriots continuously referenced.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers attempted to set the record straight on his relationship with his head coach.

Rodgers told McAfee that he and Saleh have a great relationship, and that they are close friends.

The reassurance from the quarterback comes after the two disagreed on a point the coach made during his postgame press conference.

"We've got to figure it out, whether or not we're good enough or ready to handle all the cadence," Saleh said. "Cadence had not been an issue all camp. Felt like our operation had been operating pretty good. Obviously, today it took a major step back."

Rodgers pushed back, saying "that's one way to do it," and that "the other way is to hold them accountable."

On Monday, Saleh responded to his quarterback, and attempted to smooth over the situation.

"We're always going to push the envelope with cadence. Always," Saleh said one day after the loss.

"But with regards to operation, getting in and out of the huddle, getting to the line of scrimmage, the communication that's being had, those are all things that we can continue to look at and clean up. But from a cadence standpoint, that's part of what makes us who we are, and we're going to continue to always push the envelope on that."

Rodgers' cadence has been a big part of his game over the years, as he'll often try to draw defenses offside in order to get a free play. That strategy led to several false start penalties on Sunday against the Broncos.

We'll see if things change between Rodgers and Saleh, and if they're as close as Rodgers believes them to be.
