Purdue Football Fires Coach After Embarrassing Loss To Nebraska

Graham Harrell may be a legend in Lubbock, TX, but he's no longer welcome in West Lafayette, IN.
According to college football insider Brett McMurphy, Purdue has decided to fire the offensive coordinator following the program's 28-10 loss to Nebraska.
"Decisions like this are never easy," head coach Ryan Walters said in a statement on the move. "After evaluating our start to the season, I felt that it was best for our team to make a change now. We are appreciative of Graham's contributions to our program and wish him the best going forward."
The Boilermakers have gotten off to a 1-3 start over the season's first five weeks with an offense that ranks 104th nationally in points per game.
Things began well enough for Purdue against Indiana State when it dropped 49 on the Sycamores and quarterback Hudson Card completed all but one pass for 273 yards and four touchdowns. However in the games to follow, the Boilermakers only broke 20 points one time.
Harrell was Purdue's highest paid assistant and joined Walters after stops at West Virginia, USC and North Texas.
There's no word yet on who will serve as OC in the interim with Harrell on his way out.
Coach Walters will reportedly address the team's play-calling duties at a press conference on Monday.
