Aaron Rodgers Among Betting Favorites For 2028 Presidential Election
Today at 12:49 PM
There was a fun little story this past offseason about New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers potentially being the running mate to then-presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Now that the 2028 election is on peoples' minds, Rodgers is too.
The Jets quarterback has made it very clear that he has an interest in politics even if he's not necessarily interested in being a politician. He has called out government officials on numerous occasions and even offered to debate them. He also took a particularly long time to turn down the reported interest that RFK Jr. had in adding him to the campaign trail before RFK ultimately picked attorney Nicole Shanahan as his running mate in a short-lived independent campaign.
As a result of Rodgers' interest, sports books have actually placed odds on Rodgers to win the 2028 Presidential Election. According to uSTADIUM, Bookies.com has given Rodgers +3000 odds of winning the election as an independent candidate.
Only 12 people in the entire country - all politicians or relatives of politicians - were given shorter odds.

Many fans quickly realized that Rodgers has better odds of winning the presidency (+3000) than the 2024 New York Jets have of winning Super Bowl LIX (+8000). 2024 has been a rough year for the Jets and Rodgers is responsible for a great deal of those struggles.
Through nine games Rodgers has completed just 62.3-percent of his passes - well below average of his otherwise stellar NFL career - and is committing turnovers at one of the worst rates of his career. Overall he has 2,107 yards and 15 touchdowns with seven interceptions but just three wins to show for it.
Rodgers' inability to outduel the likes of Drake Maye, Bo Nix and Sam Darnold have not only put the Jets in a 3-6 hole that they won't be able to reach the playoffs from, but also cost head coach Robert Saleh his job last month.
2024 will probably be Rodgers' last NFL season. After he retires, he'll have plenty of time to indulge his political ambitions - whatever those may be.
