Josh Jenkins has outlined the Western Bulldogs' biggest hits and misses from the last five years of drafting and recruiting players.

The former Adelaide Crows forward will assess each of the 18 clubs on AFL Trade Radio and provide what he believes have been the hits and misses when it comes to player acquisition over the last half decade.

Western Bulldogs hits

"Their big hit was of course the access to Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Sam Darcy in consecutive years," Jenkins told The Late Trade.

"One as an Academy player (Ugle-Hagan) and the other as a father-son (Darcy).

"They're two really, really prodigious talents and two guys who should catapult them forward for the next six, seven or eight years, whatever it is, that they're around and at the top of their game."

Western Bulldogs misses

"Their big miss I think is probably their trading," Jenkins added.

"Their acquisitions, aside from Adam Treloar, don't really inspire a lot, do they?

"Alex Keath's played some footy, Mitch Hannan was in and out, Stefan Martin was solid for a couple of years.

"James Harmes didn't really get going for them this year, he sort of played some AFL and some VFL footy."
