Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

One of the most fun aspects of the Royal Rumble is not knowing who will show up, only to be surprised by a legend making a cameo appearance, a celebrity randomly stepping into the ring, an injured star returning to action, NXT Superstars called up to the main roster, people outside of the company entering the fray and more.

My question for you today is “Either your predictions or just your personal wish list, what types of surprises are you looking for in the 2025 Royal Rumble matches?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

With the renewed partnership between WWE and TNA, as well as the track record of including Knockouts champions and Joe Hendry’s tease a few months back about something happening around this time, I’m all in on expecting Joe Hendry and Masha Slamovich to be in the match.

On top of that, I think there’s a really good chance Jordynne Grace is also in the women’s match, but she’ll be doing so as an official WWE Superstar now that she’s gone from TNA. It’s just a matter of time before WWE signs her, so they either put her in the match or they wait to bring her on television until after just so she can be a surprise on another show at another time. But I think we’ll see Grace and Slamovich standing across from each other at some point and the commentary team will plug how Masha was the one who beat her for the title.

I’m expecting this to be the return of Charlotte Flair (which isn’t much of a surprise anymore since they ran a vignette indicating she’d be back soon), but I’m also expecting it to be where Becky Lynch comes back. Then again, it wouldn’t shock me if they don’t put her in the match if she’s not booked to win it, just to avoid her looking weak—and, again, saving her for a surprise for another show.

WWE has over 30 men and women on the main roster, so it’s tough to decide who could be passed over. But let’s just say someone like Elektra Lopez is sidelined in favor of someone from NXT. I could see that being Lash Legend, Kelani Jordan, Sol Ruca, or a number of other people. Honestly, though, I don’t think we’re getting more than 1 NXT person, at most, and WWE might just count Roxanne Perez as that type of a surprise. She’s a guarantee to be in this, I feel, and she’ll either eliminate Bayley or the opposite will happen.

Jade Cargill will be back for this, I think. I also wouldn’t be shocked if this is where we see Omos, after he’s not done anything for months.

This year has John Cena in the men’s match, so I don’t think we’re getting any huge names like a Goldberg or The Rock or anything. No celebrities or WWE Hall of Famer surprises.

One really hail Mary type of prediction I’ll end this with is that while I don’t think it’ll happen, there’s always a chance this Corey Graves situation turns into him stepping back into the ring and doing something here.

What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
