What Match Sells AEW Full Gear 2024 To You? | Question Of The Day
Today at 08:00 AM
Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
AEW Full Gear 2024 takes place tomorrow night, so we’ll be diving into predictions for tomorrow’s EWN QOTD. For today, though, I’d like to not yet get into match outcomes, and more so focus on promotional value.
My question for you today is “Why are you (or are you not) going to watch AEW Full Gear?” As in, is there one match that is your biggest selling point? Is it a combination of you feeling like the whole card is worth checking out? Are you just a loyal enough fan that you were going to watch it no matter what? Or, are you actually NOT sold on this, and aren’t willing to spend your money, for any particular reason?
Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.
As far as my answer…
First and foremost, even if I didn’t really want to watch this, I’d have to, as it’s my job. Thankfully, I do actually want to check out this card for a number of matches, so that just so happens to work out very well this time that I’d be curious even if I were just a fan again and had no financial ties to this.
Admittedly, not everything on the card speaks to me. The Big Boom stuff is ridiculous and not at all funny, charming, or anything interesting to me. Mariah May’s celebration feels like a dud of a segment already. At this point, I’m past over Mercedes Mone, so I don’t care to see her against Kris Statlander.
But everything else, essentially, has something going for it. Even the tag title match has me curious if we’ll see something going on with The Acclaimed or if Private Party will be able to hold their own as champions or come across as flops.
Jon Moxley versus Orange Cassidy is the real standout selling point to me, which isn’t surprising, considering it’s the main event. I just assume those guys are going to put on a great show, even with a predictable outcome.
I’m leaning toward Daniel Garcia beating Jack Perry, and I like them both, so that should be fun. Adam Page and Jay White are reliable. Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher could steal the show. The same goes for Ricochet and Konosuke Takeshita. I’m curious about MJF vs Roderick Strong and Bobby Lashley against Swerve Strickland, too.
This is a rock solid card that I think will have just a few dips here and there, but has 75%+ value to be quite good. I’m hoping Tony Khan doesn’t throw 4 more matches onto the Zero Hour to bog this all down for me like normal.
What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
