AEW has been aiming to extend the contract of a veteran star who has been with the company since its inception in 2019.

That wrestler is Dustin Rhodes, who mentioned in July that he still has more to accomplish in the ring.

As we previously reported here on eWn, Dustin’s contract was set to expire in September 2024. Recent discussions about his contract sparked speculation about whether he would continue with AEW or return to WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dustin is likely to re-sign with AEW. However, it is unclear whether he has finalized the new contract.

Dustin began his professional wrestling career in September 1988. He had several stints with WWE from 1995 to 2019 and competed for TNA Wrestling and WCW.

Dustin joined AEW in 2019 and has been a player/coach for the promotion.
