There has been much speculation about potential major matches for WrestleMania 41, and these rumors may be somewhat valid.
Recently, it was reported that a WWE Title match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena is being planned for the event.
At the same time, rumors suggest that WWE is interested in a matchup between CM Punk and Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 41.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed the rumors and mentioned that these are the current plans.
Meltzer stated, "The notion of Punk facing Roman Reigns has been circulating over the past week. I believe there's something to it."
Regarding Cena vs. Rhodes, Meltzer noted that the match was "not etched in stone" but affirmed that the rumors about Cena competing for a World title at WrestleMania 41 was "very legit."
He added, "It absolutely was a major thing, [people] talking about WrestleMania being John Cena going for the 17th Championship and breaking Ric Flair's record. So it could've been GUNTHER, it could've been whoever beats GUNTHER, it could've been Cody. Probably wasn't going to be Cody if Rock was doing the show. Right now, it is Cody. If Dwayne wants Cody, it's probably going to happen that way. Maybe Dwayne will go for Roman. It's up to Dwayne, that's up to Dwayne. So there's a lot of possibilities. But Punk and Roman's one of them.”
WWE WrestleMania 41 will be held as a two-night event on April 19 and 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada,.
