Next week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is being taped in advance (spoilers will be posted here) tonight. But for those who don’t wish to know anything ahead of time that they aren’t supposed to know, we’ve got you covered.
As far as the official announcements that aired during tonight’s episode of SmackDown, here is what is in store for next week’s episode:
Following the face-to-face segment between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, which had Rhodes fired up, The American Nightmare walked backstage and got into an argument with Carmelo Hayes, who was in agreement with Owens. Rhodes pushed Hayes down and the two had to be separated by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. The WWE champion said it might be time to re-assess Aldis’s first-round WWE Draft pick, setting up a match between the two.

As a result of Jade Cargill being attacked backstage, she has been pulled from her planned first-round Triple Threat match in the tournament to crown the Women’s United States Championship. Michin and Piper Niven will have a new opponent, who has yet to be announced.
This brings the lineup for next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown to the following:
- Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes in a non-title match
- 1st Round Women’s United States Championship Triple Threat Match: Michin vs. Piper Niven vs. TBA (Jade Cargill’s replacement)
