Reason Why Lucha Brothers Left AEW For WWE Revealed

Penta El Zero Miedo parted ways with AEW earlier this year, and although Rey Fenix is still under contract with AEW, he is believed to leave once his deal expires.

The Lucha Brothers are expected to join WWE sooner rather than later. Penta seems already on board, as WWE has been airing vignettes that hint at his debut.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the Lucha Brothers’ decision to leave AEW stemmed from their feeling of having “stagnated"within the company, and their knowledge that WWE had expressed interest in them.

AEW President Tony Khan attempted to retain them by offering higher salaries, but by then, the Lucha Brothers had already made their decision.

When Khan or others approached them regarding a potential contract renewal, the Lucha Brothers redirected discussions to their agent, signaling to AEW officials that they were set on departing, which prompted Khan to stop featuring them on television.
