Big news coming out of AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door III that the door is not closing with the end of the pay-per-view event. Instead, it will re-open even earlier than next year’s Forbidden Door event, with a special New Japan Pro Wrestling event coming on January 5, 2025.

Wrestle Dynasty will come to the Tokyo Dome the day after Wrestle Kingdom 19 and is set to feature talent not only from NJPW, but All Elite Wrestling, CMLL, Ring of Honor and STARDOM as well.

New Japan’s quick promotional words on the event are currently quite simple and vague about the mechanics of how this crossover will pan out, simply stating:

“Five promotions will come together for one mega card as NJPW, AEW, CMLL, ROH and STARDOM will all be under the roof of the Dome just 24 hours after Wrestle Kingdom 19. A night of dream matches is in store to kick off the year!”

As we’re months away, we can assume we’ll slowly but surely see matches announced for this event, so it will be more important than ever to keep a close eye on each of those brands’ champions and challengers.
