Netflix's 'Mr. McMahon' Documentary Blasted As Devastating Blow To Vince McMahon's Reputation

Netflix recently released the trailer for the "Mr. McMahon" documentary series, which will provide an in-depth look at the life and career of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
The "Mr. McMahon" docuseries, scheduled to premiere on September 25, 2024, has been years in the making. Despite facing legal challenges, including grave allegations and lawsuits, the documentary is moving forward and will delve into McMahon's professional accomplishments and the controversies surrounding him.
On a recent edition of Konnan's "Keepin' It 100" podcast, Conrad Thompson reported that he was informed that the "Mr. McMahon" documentary would be a "burial"of McMahon, and some individuals in WWE are upset about it.
Thompson said, "It's a hit piece they don't like."
Konnan added, "Yeah, because Bill Simmons is doing it. He does what he wants."
Thompson continued, "[Simmons] is talking to [David] Shoemaker and [Dave] Meltzer. It's an absolute double shovel burial."
Disco Inferno said, "I can't ever pile in on guys like that because I'm in this business because of people like them."
Disco further expressed his discomfort with people in the "dirt sheet community" consistently criticizing individuals like Hulk Hogan and McMahon "regardless of the bad things they've done."
Thompson acknowledged that similar to his approach with the late Chris Benoit, he has had to separate the artist from the actual person.
He noted, "If you read the original report, certainly it was slanted to read a certain way. Either way, it's hard to read that and not be a little taken aback. Now it's like okay, not everybody is all good or all bad. He created some real magic for millions of people, myself included. But he wasn't always a great guy. I think if you go back and look up almost any of our heroes, whether they're in entertainment, music or whatever, those folks disappoint you. But that doesn't mean you have to give up enjoying their previous work."
Thompson further stated that while he respects those who choose not to revisit events from the past because figures like McMahon are part of that history, it’s not his personal experience.
The "Mr. McMahon" documentary will consist of six one-hour episodes, each offering a detailed exploration of the rise and fall of the man who revolutionized the world of professional wrestling.
