On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Jim Ross recalled Miss Kitty going topless at the WWE Armageddon 1999 pay-per-view event. He said,

"It was a way to try to entertain men 18 to 34. If you're a marketer or a business person, you know that demographic likes that kind of thing. Pro wrestling is a male show. If you lose your males, you're out of business."

The segment saw Kitty, real name Stacy Carter, expose her breasts to the fans following her Women’s title win in an Evening Gown match.

On the podcast, Ross said that Kitty was “happy to provide” fans with titillation by exposing her “luscious little breasts.”

Ross did acknowledge the role of women in wrestling but pointed out that at the time, higher-ups believed that fans only wanted female talent in a sexual role.

Later on, Ross discussed whether Kitty was sufficiently rewarded for being willing to expose herself on television. He said,

“Going from a good payday to the best payday they ever had. So hell yeah, they got compensated for it."

Miss Kitty would later be known as The Kat and left the company with her husband Jerry “The King” Lawler in early 2001.
