Jake Roberts Recalls Suitcases Full Of Steroids During WWE Run

On a recent edition of his “The Snake Pit” podcast, Jake Roberts recalled how freely steroids were in WWE thanks to Dr. George Zahorian. He said,

“He’d go into a room, and he’d have several suitcases in there and you’d tell him what you wanted and he’d go through the suitcases and get it and package it up for you and hand it to you.”

Roberts shared that all transactions were done in cash. Zahorian was convicted in 1991 of supplying illegal steroids to WWE talent.

Zahorian was sentenced to three years in prison. With his cooperation, Vince McMahon was indicted in 1993 for the same charges.

McMahon was acquitted in 1994, a victory for the former WWE Chairman that was often brought up during his time on camera.

Roberts would struggle with substance abuse problems for years before being able to get himself clean and sober thanks to the help of DDP.
