The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported this morning on how the WWE ID program works with independent promotions. One promoter, Brett Lauderdale from GCW, has voiced his concerns about it.

According to the report, when a WWE ID talent works for a promotion, the contract says that Gabe Sapolsky organizes the matches. He provides the script to the promoter, who then pays the talent.

The promoter can advertise that the talent is from WWE. WWE also pays for travel costs with a stipend, and the promoter covers any extra costs if they exceed this amount.

Brett Lauderdale took to Twitter to clarify his experience working with the WWE ID program.

He wrote, "My experience with WWE ID: 1. Gabe doesn't put the matches together 2. I've never seen or heard of a script 3. We are "allowed" to push "WWE ID" on talent announcements (but we don't) 4. Not aware of any travel stipend or travel share but that would be cool!"
