Former WWE Superstar Donovan Dijak had an impressive tenure in NXT. However, his transition to the main roster during the WWE Draft 2024 fell below expectations. Following his departure from WWE, the 37-year-old wrestler is now officially a free agent.

Dijak previously confirmed that WWE did not negotiate with him and informed him of their decision not to renew his contract at the eleventh hour, which expired on June 28.

Earlier today, Beyond Wrestling announced that Dijak will return to the promotion after seven years. He is set to compete against Aaron Stevens (formerly Damien Sandow) at Americanrana at White Eagle in Worcester.

Following the announcement, Dijak took the opportunity to assert his claim to the famous “American Nightmare” persona of the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the face of WWE, Cody Rhodes.

Dijak tweeted, "Look at me, look at me @CodyRhodes I'm the American Nightmare now."

Since attaining free agency, Dijak has been keeping himself busy. The former WWE Superstar debuted at the Blitzkrieg Pro event and was present backstage at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 this past weekend.
