During a recent appearance on “The Takedown” podcast, Baron Corbin discussed the lessons he gained from John Cena in WWE, particularly regarding his “Sad Corbin” character.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
Baron Corbin on his "Sad Corbin" gimmick: "Sad Corbin, you know, it was just supposed to be like a two-week thing. I think that was originally the plan, like, let's get you upset and then get you back and then I grabbed on to it and I was like, 'This is so different, this is so fun and I can show my range … let's turn it up to 12.’"
On learning from John Cena: "That's something I've always learned from Cena. How do you take what they give you and turn it into gold? Happy Corbin was the one that I really had to go, 'Okay, this is not my favorite, how do I make this awesome?’"
During a recent appearance on the “Unlikely” podcast, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes commented on CM Punk’s dog, Larry, making a light-hearted remark that Larry hasn’t quite reached the status of his own dog, Pharaoh.
Cody mentioned that merchandise featuring Larry The Dog has surpassed sales for certain other WWE Superstars. When asked if this indicates that Pharaoh should elevate his performance, Cody responded with a chuckle.
Cody said, "Yeah, no, I don't think that's a rumor. So Pharaoh has more, this is going to sound so inside, he has more SKUs on the shelf. He's got a couple of shirts, the plushes. So Larry is killing it. He should be. We love Larry in our house. CM Punk loves Pharaoh but Larry is…. Larry's not there yet."
