The Young Bucks won the gold at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) were set to challenge Great-O-Khan and HENARE for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at the show. However, the titles were vacated after HENARE suffered an injury in December. NJPW then announced that the Bucks would face Great-O-Khan and a partner of his choosing at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. Jeff Cobb was later confirmed as Great-O-Khan’s partner, and Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi joined the match.
The teams clashed in a tornado tag team match at the Tokyo Dome event, and in the end, the Young Bucks pinned Great-O-Khan to win the match and the titles.
With the win, the Young Bucks became two-time IWGP Tag Team Champions. They previously held the gold in 2018. The match marked their first time competing in a NJPW ring since NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13 in 2019. They are also former AAA World Tag Team Champions, AEW World Tag Team Champions, and ROH World Tag Team Champions.
The Young Bucks later commented on their win in an AEW digital exclusive.
