Swerve Strickland says he’s not cleared to compete, but he wants to face Chris Bey when the TNA star is able to wrestle again.

AEW’s Swerve Strickland appeared at FSW’s Benefit for Chris Bey event on March 23rd. He was scheduled to face Kenny King, but Swerve announced that he was not cleared to compete due to a ruptured eardrum. He spoke highly of Bey and said that he would be waiting for him when he was ready. Strickland stated that he wanted to face Bey in his first match.

Strickland has not wrestled since AEW Revolution on March 9th. There, he defeated Ricochet to earn a shot at the AEW World Championship. At the post-show press conference, Strickland noted that he had a busted ear drum. He is set to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at AEW Dynasty.

Bey is recovering from surgery, as he suffered a neck injury in October 2024. In February, he posted a video of himself walking again.
