Seth Rollins likens John Cena to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs have won multiple Super Bowls in recent years, and many fans have turned on them. John Cena experienced a similar reaction during his run atop WWE, as he won numerous world titles, and he became a polarizing figure. Cena remained a babyface until he turned heel at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Seth Rollins was asked to name a football team that had turned heel, and he pointed to the Kansas City Chiefs.
"The Chiefs are a big heel turn over the past few years,” Rollins said. “They were America's sweethearts forever, and now everybody hates them.”
Rollins was also asked to name a wrestling equivalent of Chiefs fatigue, or someone that the fans had grown tired of, and he named John Cena.
"John Cena is the perfect example. He's a guy who recently turned heel for the first time in a long time. He's a perfect example. He would win so much, they would just boo him. 'We want Cena, Cena sucks.'
