Ricochet had to back his own abilities when executing the death-defying spot with Logan Paul at Money in the Bank 2023.

During the titular ladder match, the pair were balanced on the ring ropes and looked out onto the outside. Despite a lack of balance and uncertainty on Logan Paul’s face, Ricochet took charge of the situation.

He grabbed the former United States Champion, backflipping off the ropes and hitting a Spanish Fly through a table on the YouTube star. The spot was almost spoilt numerous times by unsure minds and tired legs, but they managed to pull it off as well as anybody could.

Ricochet spoke about this spot with Adrian Hernandez. He revealed that he had to rely on his instincts due to things not going right.

He noted that he was the one taking the risk, being the one doing the backflip from the ropes through a table. He called it “fight or flight”, although it ended up rather well in the end.

“In the moment, I guess—especially in wrestling—you have to rely on your instincts a lot, because sometimes things don't go right. Especially with what we do, when you add tables, ladders, and all these types of things.” Ricochet said.

“So in those moments, it's fight or flight. Like you said, you have half a second to think about what you want to do. And for me, I'm out there obviously trying to put on a show for the crowd, but at the same time, I'm holding on to Logan. I want to go—we're going, bro. You slip, I slip. It don't matter. We're going.”

He continued, “But then after that, he met me afterwards, and we got in a little fight. They got it on camera. But in that moment, it's fight or flight, and I'm the one going backwards anyway, you know what I'm saying? I'm going backwards.”

“So it's just one of those things where you have to take control of the situation. And again, I'm comfortable in my abilities and my instincts,” added Ricochet.
