NJPW Commentator Suspended Following Controversial Remarks Made About AEW President Tony Khan at Wrestle DynastyJoey G.

Chris Charlton, a commentator for NJPW, has been handed a two-month suspension following controversial remarks he made about AEW and its founder, Tony Khan.

The news first broke via Dave Meltzer, who reported that Charlton had been placed on an indefinite break after making critical comments about AEW's approach to talent acquisition, including calling Khan a "money mark." Charlton also voiced his displeasure over AEW's signing of prominent NJPW stars like Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Jay White, as well as how those talents have been utilized within AEW.

However, according to Fightful Select, the situation goes beyond just a temporary hiatus. Sources revealed that Charlton has been officially suspended for a full two months. Backstage reactions to his comments were mixed—some supported his opinion, while others felt his remarks crossed a line.

NJPW has since clarified that neither AEW nor Tony Khan had any influence over the decision to suspend Charlton, but it's been reported that AEW was not pleased with the comments made about their handling of NJPW talent.
