Nigel McGuinness: "If I Know 100 Things About Commentary On Professional Wrestling, Probably 90 Come From Michael Cole"

On a recent “Talk Is Jericho,” Nigel McGuinness talked about his return to the ring at AEW Grand Slam after being retired for over a decade. Nigel also discussed his commentary and how much Michael Cole helped him.
Nigel McGuinness discussing learning commentary from Michael Cole in WWE:
"Six fantastic years learning under Michael Cole and Tom Phillips. If I know 100 things about commentary on professional wrestling, probably 90 come from Michael Cole, so I’ll forever be grateful for him. Now that I’m here in AEW, I don’t know how you feel about it, but for me, I feel like I can take everything that I learned there and keep the good stuff, and the stuff that I don’t necessarily need to keep, I can let that go. I’ve got much more freedom now."
Nigel McGuinness on if he will wrestle again:
"There's always a chance. Now that I've realized, and I don't want to say it's not as difficult as I thought because it's obviously very difficult, but I think I didn’t give myself enough credit for being able to do it. I think I listened to too many people. I said it in a promo relatively recently, you know, you hear that nobody knows you used to be a wrestler enough, and you start to believe it. Then one day, the voice telling you is your own. One day, and for me, this took a long time, but one day you realized that it was your voice all alone and nobody else gave a sh*t. So I’m at that stage now where I feel eternally blessed to have been able to get back in the ring. I’m open to the possibility, but if I don’t wrestle again, that’s okay as well. As I said, I’ve had closure and we’ll see what happens and what dreams may come."
