John Cena has taken inspiration from one of his classic T-shirts for his brand-new merchandise.

The 16-time WWE Champion’s heel turn has been a roaring success so far. He has put on some all-time great promos opposite Cody Rhodes, with interest in their WrestleMania 41 match at an all-time high.

During his promo on Raw this week, John Cena told the WWE Universe exactly what he plans to do in his match against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. He talked about the fans criticizing the WWE Spinner Belt he brought in back in 2005 and how they called it a “toy belt.” Cena considered this to be his "greatest idea" and yet the WWE Universe continued to mock him for it.

John Cena took their words and used them against them. He said that he plans to beat Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania and retire as the WWE Champion. This would leave the company with a “toy belt” as the real one would leave with him. He also said he’s going to win his 17th world title and make the world forget the name Ric Flair was associated with all-time title wins.

The spinner belt isn’t the only throwback from John Cena’s heel turn, though. The WWE recently released a new t-shirt with the slogan “Last Real Champion”, based on a line Cena said in Monday night’s new promo.

This design is the same as a previous T-shirt released by Cena. It previously said “Rise Above Hate“, so this redesign shows the change in his character since Elimination Chamber.

John Cena’s 'Last Real Champion' shirt is available now on WWEShop.com.
