Dragon Lee Defends WWE Speed Title, New Tournament Announced

The March 19th episode of WWE Speed featured a title match and the announcement of a new tournament.

Dragon Lee defeated Ivar to retain the WWE Speed Championship on the March 19th episode of WWE Speed. WWE also announced that a Number One Contender’s Tournament for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship will begin on the March 26th episode of WWE Speed, starting with a first-round match between Katana Chance and Sol Ruca. The other first-round match will see Shayna Baszler clash with Michin. WWE Women’s Speed Champion Candice LeRae awaits the winner.

Lee has been featured on WWE RAW recently. He and Rey Mysterio have been feuding with The New Day. They have also been dealing with a mysterious luchador, who has attacked them twice.

As for the women’s tournament, Michin has been targeting Chelsea Green’s WWE Women’s United States Championship, but Green has beaten her twice. Sol Ruca unsuccessfully challenged Green for the title on the March 18th episode of NXT.
