That’s worth a look. WWE is in a unique place in wrestling as the company is able to recruit athletes from around the world. These may no even be wrestlers, but occasionally are athletes from other sports. Those moves can often lead to some successful hires, and that is what WWE is looking at again, as the company has signed a former Olympian with some combat experience.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE held a tryout with seventeen former Olympic athletes and signed Aaron Fara, an Austrian judoka who competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics. Fara is said to be about 6’4 and charismatic. There is no word on when he will begin training with WWE or whether any other athletes at the tryout were signed. At least some were offered deals.

It’s gone well before. Check out some other Olympians in WWE:

Opinion: This is something you see WWE doing every so often and it makes sense. At some point you need to bring in someone new with fresh blood to see what they can do and the Olympics are a good place to start. I’m not sure how well this is going to go but at least WWE has someone they think is worth a look. Ronda Rousey did rather well coming from judo to WWE so it’s worth a try.
